This program is a sure winner! Hide the ingredients for making potato latkes. Organize teams and let the teams search for the items. Once all the items have been collected, have a potato latke cooking demonstration.

The clues for our latke ingredients are taken from biblical quotes. (see images in the table below). To move teams from clue to clue, we rewrote the verses to a few famous chanukah tunes to send teams in the right direction..(direction clues were printed on parchment paper and rolled like scrolls for effect).

Another set of clues was created to indicate the location of the next clue. You will have to create these based on your building's layout and the spaces you chose to use.


POTATOE: Abel became a keeper of sheep and Cain became a tiller of soil. Tiller of soil = farmer of the earth. Grower of corn, potatoes, etc.	SALT: And his (Lot's) wife looked back and she thereupon turned into a pillar of salt.

FLOUR: This is the offering that Aaron and his sons shall offer to God on the occasion of his appointment: a tenth of an ephah of choice flour as a regular meal offering.... you shall bring it well soaked and offer it as a meal offering of baked slices, of pleasing scent to God.
